In Germany a new edition of the base game was published in autumn 2012. It contains 15 new cards of a new type called action cards. The theme of the cards is "circus". The action cards are shuffled into the district pile and can be drawn in the course of the game like district cards. Once per turn, each player may use an action card (action cards cost no gold). The action cards deliver various tactical advantages - comparable to purple district cards. They are an interesting new element of the game.
