Interaction Witch - Abbot

When the Abbot plays his turn the sequence is:

- Get 1 gold from the richest player (if applicable)
- Play his action (either take 2 gold or 1 card)

But when the Abbot is bewitched by the Witch (which witch? watch!) the sequence is different

- The Witch bewitches the Abbot
...
- The Abbot is revealed
- The Abbot plays his action (either take 2 gold or 1 card)
- The Witch continues her turn and might get 1 gold from the richest player (if applicable)

My point: the "getting the 1 gold from the richest player" ability is used by the Abbot BEFORE taking 2 gold but if used by the Witch the ability is used AFTER the Witch took 2 gold.

Wouldn't this be an unfair way of stealing the ability ?

I haven't checked this out in any games, so I'm not sure this might be working like this.

The witch wouldn't steal the abbot, merchant and arquitect habilities, but bruno put this as special cases. A patch...
In any case, here the witch wont change again.

The Merchant and the Architect are different, because their abilities: "1 extra gold" and "2 extra cards" have the same effect BEFORE or AFTER taking an action. It's just the Abbot's ability that is different...

No, originaly the merchant get gold at the beggining of the turn, same as bishop or king, etc...
This rule have changed between editions and countries...

Amoaver, ejemplo sencillo y simplificado en castellano.

Si yo tengo 0 monedas y tú tienes 1 moneda y juego al Abad, me llevo tu moneda. Luego cojo (porque lo elijo así) otras 2 monedas. Tengo 3 monedas.

Si yo tengo 0 monedas y tú tienes 1 monedas, juego a la Bruja y digo que embrujo al Abad, y juego mi acción (escojo coger 2 monedas), tengo ahora 2 monedas y tú 1 moneda, con lo que cuando yo obtenga la habilidad del Abad no cogeré la moneda extra.

Si eres la bruja y quieres embrujar al abad, calcula en función del dinero que vayas a tener tras robar las 2 monedas (si es que vas a robar monedas tras embrujar).


Conclusión:

Cuidado con esas brujas
cuando embrujen al abad,
no vaya a ser que les cruja
como cura de humildad.

Es un buen poeta, no te creas, yo tengo sus obras cuasicompletas en un lugar de privilegio en mi biblioteca.

Sí, funciona así. Pero la cosa es que no solo jugamos tu y yo, sino que jugamos muchos más (entre 1 y 6 jugadores más). Así la variedad de gente con más o menos monedas, las pérdidas misteriosas de dinero (ladrones, emperadores), etc... dan un amplio abanico de posibilidades entre que la bruja coge sus 2 monedas hasta que se revela el embrujado abad.
Así que Matilda puede embrujar tranquilamente al abad porque puede ganar perfectamente su moneda, y luego están las taxas eclesiásticas (porque ella es muy piadosa).
