I like the concept of the queen. Sadly, she's almost never chosen, except with 5 players when chances of success are bigger. But then there are quite a lot of open cards.

The way we use her in live games is that she earns 4 gold when sitting next to the crown but is only used with 6+ players. It's an idea for you to consider for the online game.

Reasoning:
- One open card is ideal. With 6 players there will be no open card unless you add a 9th char.

- Four gold is not too much. After a few rounds there will be enough cards built so that everyone gains one or two bonus gold. It's always better to take only two gold automatically (AND a special ability of the king/bishop/warlord) than to risk getting three or nothing. Usually it's nothing. Even one gold and a power is better than nothing (and going last).

- The merchant can easily gain three gold or more, and without guessing. It's not unusual to have two or three green cards built, surpassing the queen by a huge margin.

- The navigator earns 4 gold without guessing.

- Even 5 gold for the queen wouldn't be too much when playing with 7-8. Chances of success are very low.

me ha costado un monton traducirlo e incluso hay conceptos que no entiendo pero mas o menos dice que la reina tenia que ganar mas monedas que asi juega en partidas en vivo y hace una serie de indicaciones de pq tendria que ser asi.. propone que sean 4 o mas monedas en función del numero de jugadores debido a lo dificil de conseguirlas cuantos mas jugadores haya.

las razones.. que el mercader facilmente gana 3 monedas o mas en cada turno sin riesgo de conseguirlas, el navegante tambien.. y que los k cobran impuestos ademas de un poder tienen posibilidad de conseguir mas de 2 monedas.. asi que ve lógico que al haber menos probabilidad de conseguir la pasta cuantos mas jugadores sean.. la rentabilidad tiene que ser mayor.. (yo opino que es coherente.. a mas riesgo mas rentabilidad.. esto funciona asi en las Bolsas.. pq no en el ciudadelas???)

A mi la idea que propone Matt me parece interesante, aunque le veo un riesgo claro: reina + 4 moneda = Puerta Dragon en un turno... BINGO!!!
Además, no creo que sea fácil mantener en paralelo una reina de 3 monedas y una reina de 4, y que la gente no se líe. Yo lo probaré en partidas con cartas reales, a ver que tal va.

I think Matt's idea looks interesting, even when you could build a dragongate in a single turn, no thief to stop (2gold+queen makes 6 gold).... A real JACKPOT!!!
Anyway, it's probablely hard to maintain code for both 3gold & 4gold queens at the time. it's probable harder have people not confused confused smiley. i think i'll try it on real cards first.

Yo no había tomado esto por una sugerencia, creía que solo estaba comentando la reina (no se por que me había parecido que estaba en General).
No voy a cambiar más las reglas del juego. Equilibrar las cartas no es cosa mia, sino del creador de Ciudadelas. Sinceramente, me parece un juego muy dificil de equilibrar. Pero, como los personajes van cambiando de dueño cada ronda y sirven a todo el mundo por igual, más o menos dependiendo de las necesidades del momento, no me extraña que no se molestase en intentar un equilibrio perfecto.

I dont notice this post as a suggestion, i thought that it was a comment about the character Queen (i thought i see this post in General).
I cannot change more the game rules. Balance or unbalance cards is not my job. It is the job of the creator of the Citadels game. It seems to me a game too hard to balance. The characters change his owner each round, it server all people the same abilities (depending of the need of each time). Because of this, i dont surprise me that the creator dont bother him in try to reach a perfect balance between characters.

No, i dont mind anything that you expose your opinions. Not many people (almost anybody) speak of the rules of the game lately. But in the suggestion forum, i think that you made a suggestion.
